Jenny Baca is an AAAS Fellow on the Gender and Youth team at FFP, regionally covering the Horn of Africa and the Sahel. She has an interdisciplinary background focusing on the intersection of social inequalities and the environment. Prior to joining FFP, Jenny was a postdoc at Bowdoin College, teaching in the Latin American Studies and Environmental Studies programs. Her PhD research explores how forestry practices affected the national belonging of the rural working class in Southern Chile during socialism, dictatorship and democracy. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from UC Berkeley and a BA in Human Biology from Stanford University.
